A couple of great pictures of Rod Pallant on his LA Hooker Top Fuel bike which were taken at Pennine Raceway (left) and Long Marston.

Brian Johnson launching his Imperial Wizard Pro Stock bike has already pulled out a lead on his opponent.  The venue looks like Long Marston to me.

Long Marston again and Eamon Hurley riding his NSU RO80 rotary engined Concorde bike.  Kelvin thinks that Eamon ran an NSU dealership which might explain the choice of powerplant.  Problems with the rotor tips in the engine later forced a change to more conventional Kawasaki power.

A fairly rare picture of Johnny Munn enjoying a ride on The Dealer Top Fuel bike of Steve Woollatt and Pat Neal.

Dick Talbot performing a static burn out against a conveniently placed trailer (probably) at Blackbushe Aerodrome.

An excellent series of pictures of the then reigning US top fuel bike champion Ken Annesley on his double engined Orange Crush machine matching up against the UK's John Hobbs.  These pictures were taken at Santa Pod.

A very unusual and effective low-level shot of the late Henk Vink on his Big Spender single engined blown Kawasaki top fuel bike.  This picture was taken at Snetterton.

Henk Vink in the far lane staging against the US' Sam Wills at York Raceway.
Nick Dammers, who was Henk Vink's mechanic between 1973 and 1988 has been in touch with information about these pictures.
Sam is riding one of Henk Vink's Big Spender bikes because his own machine had broken and there was insufficient time to repair it.  It was agreed that Sam would ride the fastest Big Spender bike and Henk rode the spare machine.  Carl Ahlfeldt, the mechanic and builder of Sam's Motorcycles Unlimited double engined bike, was also there and this bike was subsequently purchased by Henk.
This meeting was part of tour of Europe undertaken by Sam, Carl, Henk and the team.

My thanks to John Hackney, Marc Fossey and Vincent Pels for identifying the rider of this funny bike as the late Paul Willis.

A couple of shots of Jeff Byne on his blown double Triumph Hurricane.  If my memory serves me correctly (it often doesn't) he financed this bike with a pools win.

Marion Owens from the US in reflective mood on the left, and burning out against the tower at Santa Pod.  The bike was called Boss Hog and featured two Harleys displacing in total about 3½ litres.

A fine close up shot of Phil Brachtvogel burning out.  This bike was originally built by Terry Revill who sold it to Jay Upton who then sold it on to Phil.

Paul Rose on Pitsville Express.

Another visiting US Top Fuel champion was Bo O'Brochta.  This picture was taken at one of the fantastic series of Transatlantic Drag Bike Races held at Long Marston in the early 1980s.

Terry Revill, having competed very successfully on two wheels, moved on to this competition altered called The Assassin which he bought from Mick Saunders who called it The Animal when he campaigned it.

Le Patron Jim Read in his ex-John Woolfe Racing slingshot dragster which he raced in Pro Comp (the forerunner of Top Methanol Dragster).  This picture was taken at an NDRC meeting held at the Royal Naval Air Yard Wroughton which was an active base.

Clive Skilton driving his Vauxhall VX/490 bodied AA/FC also at Wroughton.
