This will be Steve's last page as things stand at the moment so let's get it off to a cracking start with this great shot of Svante Ericsson's amazing Hemi-powered Jeep.  Don't let that 'MCA' competition number fool you - he used to stick a couple of slicks in the back and drive that thing all the way from Sweden.  They made him run in competition altered because it was so quick he would have wiped the floor with all the street cars otherwise!

Next up are three nice shots of Vic Hammond driving his Mr Big methanol burning altered.  The venue is Long Marston now called Shakespeare County Raceway.

This picture has unfortunately suffered a bit over the years.  It shows Peter Crane at the wheel of his Chevrolet Camaro Eazy Ridin'.  You can tell it is Peter rather than Mustaffa Erroll who had the car after him by the Hunter Group sponsorship.  Peter went on to slightly bigger things by becoming the first man to run under six seconds in a top fuel dragster outside of the USA.
Incidentally, the double decker bus in the background was owned by the ReadSpeed team who used it to transport their various dragsters.

Another Chevrolet Camaro, this time the Clunk Click Pro Stock entry of Gary Goggin.  Gary tried and tried to run a nine in this car but was ultimately unsuccessful albeit only by a few hundredsth of a second.

This is Des Taylor's Ford Pinto which was a 13.1 second runner on nitrous.  It doesn't sound much these days but it really cut the mustard back in the early 1980s.  Des has a website which describes his drag racing career which you can visit by clicking here, click on Drag Racing when you get there.

A couple of pit shots of work ongoing on the Krypton Pro Comp (Top Methanol) dragster of Rod George and Dave Wilson.

I confess that I had absolutely no clue on the ID for this car.   However, eagle-eyed regular contributor Jim Broome thinks that Dennis Priddle is looking over the engine bay and I reckon he may be right.  That means the car is Dennis' Mr Six rear engined top fuel dragster.

The Stone's team legendary Tee-Rat AA/FA driven by Dave Stone.  To say that the engine in this car over-powered the chassis would be a triumph of under-statement.

D/CA 17 was Henry's Revenge driven by John Powis.  The A30 bodyshell for this car was taken from the same mould as the famous Dorset Horn senior altered.

Roy Jagger's Topolino-bodied Jag'ged Edge altered was powered by . . . errr . . . a Jag.

Andy Rogers (aka Tog of Eurodragster .com) confirms that this is Mike Kason and therefore this must be his Topolino-bodied competition altered.

The Moon City Charger was driven by Peter Corley who I assume is the gent with his back to the camera.

The late Marion James drove The Instigator dragster which was originally built by Ray Hoare and raced in Pro Comp with a twin turbocharged engine as The Turbo Saxon.

This is the rear engined injected V8 dragster of Sinclair & Little.

This is the late Ray Feltell in the second of his rear engined Penetration junior dragsters.  Ray built the car in his garage and used a supercharged, over-bored 1295cc Mini engine for motivation.  Ray's wife Brenda is looking on and the lad on the right enjoying an ice cream in the Long Marston sunshine is one of Ray's sons, either Paul or Ian.  How can I be so uncharacteristically certain of my facts?  I have it on no less an authority than Ian Feltell who I thank for confirming my initial identification and for providing all the further information.

In the heady days of the mid-1970s Dennis Priddle managed to get sponsorship from STP for both his Chrysler Avenger-bodied funny car and for his Mr Revell top fuel dragster.

And finally a great head-on shot of an out of shape Stardust funny car driven in typical style by the late Allan 'Bootsie' Herridge.
Owen Hayward in the Houndog 7 funny car can just be seen on the left of shot.
