I remember this event well, Nick Pettitt tells me it was the last round of the 1973 Internationals. A blower explosion on the Stardust funny car (caused by running out of fuel) suddenly sent the roof flying skywards and Stardust suddenly became a convertible. Driver Allan Herridge was unhurt in this accident. Barry was on hand to record the damage in close-up. |

Tender Trap was another of the team's cars which was driven by 'Daddy' Dennis Stone and later by Radio 1 DJ Dave Lee Travis. The engine looks rather non-standard but then I suppose a 5 litre Chevrolet would! |
