I do like people who get their name on the side of the car (preferably in very large letters) - it relieves the pressure on my failing memory banks. Tom Laffey's Capri looks very mean if a little drab as it waits in the pits for its next pass. The 'A Modified' designation means that the original 3 litre lump has been replaced with something far more substantial. |

With a name like Larry Pollen I suppose a hay fever-related name was inevitable. Therefore enter Pollen Count, a 1956 Ford Consul with a 350 inch Oldsmobile motor, pictured in the pits at Santa Pod on 26 August 1984. |

Also at the Bank Holiday Meeting at Santa Pod on 26 August 1984 was Des Taylor's Super Gas entry Revell Rebel which, as you can see, was a very tasty looking Ford Pop. |

Steph Milam didn't always drive a Top Methanol Funny Car. Here is one of her earlier efforts an Austin A30 or 35 fitted with a modest little 395 cubic inch Ford motor to hurry things along. I must have been chucking buckets of water over the camera to keep it cool by now as this is another shot taken on 26 August 1984. |

Fed up with all these static shots in the pits? Same here so let's finish this page off with a bit of action courtesy of Sylvia Hauser and her various Dodge Challengers all of which were pictured at Santa Pod. Here she is creating a one-woman pollution hazard. |

Here is Sylvia violently launching her ex-Paul Rossi car lifting the front wheels and twisting the body with the force of the torque reaction from the engine. Stellan Åberg tells me that as of 2003 this car is still being raced by Jan Mårtensson in Sweden and is classified as a Super Stocker. |

Here she goes again - I have no idea if this is the same car re-painted, she definitely had more than one of them at one time. |
