One of the great
things about running this site is the way people get in touch with interesting
information. I knew absolutely nothing about this car when I put its picture on
the site, but I do now thanks to Stephan Braun, this is what he told me
:
"The Motel
Odenslund altered on page 6 of competition altereds is the first race car in a
long line of cars raced by Malmgren & Braun Racing. That is the same
Malmgren that is your pro stock champ in Europe.
"You can see Michael sitting
in the car, and the guy on the side is me, Stefan Braun. The reason for us
being at Santa Pod at the time was thanks to us winning a paid trip to the race,
and so we decided to bring our car.
"As I remember we did not make any runs
that were even close to qualifying. Basically we had no clue as to what we were
doing since this was our first year racing. We did however learn and ended up
doing pretty good eventually."
And I thought it was the English who were prone to understatement!
